December 2011 - We did not have a bookclub meeting, but many of us were able to attend the famous "Soups and Pies" party.

 

November 2011

We met on November 8, probably at our favorite bookstore, now called LB.  The book was The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.

 

October 2011

We met in the back room of our midtown haunt and discussed The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery.  Ice cream sundaes were consumed!

 

September 2011

We met on Tuesday September 13th at 6:30 at the favorite bookstore.  The book was Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese

August 2011

Our August book was Tess of the D'Urbervilles

by Thomas Hardy.  We met Tuesday August 9th and had a great time involving Key Lime Pie.   

 

July 2011

The meeting in July was held at our favorite bookstore. The book was Queen of the Turtle Derby and Other Southern Phenomena by Julia Reed.

 

June 2011

We enjoyed a surprise birthday party in June for a member whose birthday ended in a zero!!  Happy Birthday!!  And thanks so much Dennis!

 

May 2011

For our May meeting we met at Susie's house and enjoyed a Louisiana dinner while discussing Confederancy of Dunces.

 

April 2011

Our April meeting was at our favorite book store and we discussed The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. 

 

 

March 2011

This was a special meeting at Amy's house on Thursday March 10.  We enjoyed the company of one of our founding mothers who has moved to another city.  Welcome!

 

For the March meeting we read The Lacuna by one of our favorite authors Barbara Kingsolver.

January 2011

The January meeting was the Annual Couples Dinner with voting on the Favorite Book of the Year.  

Amy was the hostess this year.  The party was held on Saturday January 22 at 7:00 pm.
